Aside from dictionary definitions, it is really being a smart ***. Like say you were having the worse day on EARTH and all of a sudden your car breaks down. You get out of the car and say all happy like--"Great! This is just what I needed!" Course you don't mean it but that's sarcasm. The worse kind is aimed at other people. Like if someone is trying to help you but they are pissing you off instead and you say something like "I'm glad you like to be Captain Save-a-ho because I sure couldn't have done such and such without you." Usually people pick up on sarcasm really easily. Hope that helped.

Sarcasm is a way of saying what you mean by appearing to agree. Many people don't get it unless it bites. Oscar Wilde is the best known proponent.

Funny to the person using it, spite if it's aimed at you, a useful way of putting arrogant fools in their place but just plain mean if it's used in arrogance - otherwise known as taking the p*ss.

Move to New York; you'll find out.
Witty sarcasm is a literary device which is always wasted on those for whom it is intended, but appreciated by everyone else.

It is a mixture of irony and mockery. It is usually very offensive, although it may appear to be funny.
