I think he would have the support to get elected, but I don't think he would run. He would be wise enough to know how his messages would get lost in campaign rhetoric. He would have had to compromise his ideals too much to get a party nomination and to get elected.

He wouldn't have avoided office out of fear. He knew that his civil rights activism was dangerous. He knew his work made him a target and that his life was in constant danger. But he had the courage of his convictions. His faith allowed him to continue with his life's work, in spite of the danger. His reputation would have become sullied if he became a politician.

Probably not... there was some scandal raised about him concerning plagerism when he went to Boston University; He would have to run AFTER Clinton boinked Monica Lewinsky to look halfway respectable (while I'm on the subject, what in the HELL did Clinton ever see in that fat-assed broad anyway??? Even a player like Kennedy had enough sense to do Marilyn Monroe)

Interesting thought......I am not sure because he wasn't really a politician. But I do think he would be disappointed that the liberals have continued to force the race issue. He was trying to eliminate that - much of his message was horribly mis-interpreted by people who pretend to be "open" and "peaceful." By constantly calling attention to our differences, we forget that we are all people.

No He would not have ran for president A lot of black people are afraid of being assainated for their color. If you knew you're going to be killed because of your skin color would you run for office. However it might one eventually and when he does he will take one for his/her whole race and if they are killed. then it will surely open up doors for a lot of more blacks to get in. heck i still waiting for a black govenor to run tennessee.
