it would seem to me that the control/manipulation of gravity is the key to space travel using both the repelling force of ++ or --,also,if able to focus/concentrate gravity on another object, the attraction/pulling force of +- or -+.-Please answer in "laymans terms"-thanks

Nope...gravity is not a magnetic force.

There are four fundamental forces in the universe: weak and strong atomic forces, gravity, and electro-magnetic (EM). Each of these four forces is caused by different sources.

There are various models on where gravity comes from. Some models call for a particle called a graviton, which acts like a messenger that carries the force between mass bodies (like the planets, sun, and other bodies). Other models indicate that space itself is curved; so that things in motion follow the curves which bend into the mass bodies. Both models specify that the gravity has to have a mass of some sort for gravity to exist.

Magnetic force is just one half of the electro-magnetic force. This fundamental force is the one that converts to electricity when it moves across wires for example. When we use magnetism to create electricity, we are usually using a device called a generator.

Conversely, we can convert electricity into magnetism by wrapping wires around some iron and sending current through the wires. The magnetism in this case appears to come out either end of the iron. One end of the iron will attract iron, while the other end will repel it.

So, you see, gravity does not have a plus and minus to repel or attract, like magnetism. For the most part, gravity just attracts (although there are theoretical anti gravity particles, none has ever been detected).

well
we have 4 forces : gravity , elctro-magnetic , weak atomic , strong atomic , scientists have gathered the 3 last ones together and are trying to put gravity there too
but it's not completed yet, it's a theory called"string theory"
and if they prove it, ah god, world will change
;)
