His mother, Brenda (aka Afeni) Shakur, a prominent Black Panther in Baltimore, named him after Peruvian revolutionary Tupac Amaru.

9-13-2006 was the 10 year anniversary of his death. Two years ago, if he had really faked his death, he would legally be able to "come back" to society without consequence. Two years ago I believed that he was still alive. Today, I don't and it makes me sad.
