The Eggo was designed by Professor Charles Thurman Eggopolis of the Waffle Institute of Belgium. In 1931 he was commissioned by the US military to design a 'new, more stealthy' breakfast food that could penetrate Communist interests in the East. The Eggo as his design came to be known was the best amongst a few options presented such as, the Western Bomblette, Blueberry Pantanks, and Frosted Nuclear Fallout Flakes.
