see that although I know I can't take it back, I regret it immensely?

Sure I heard some pretty harsh stuff directed at ME too, but this person is actually more stubborn than I am! I KNOW I have to bend first.

A good old fashioned, humble and heart-felt apology would do the trick. Explain why you said what you said and that you didn't mean it. No fancy flowers, gifts or excuses.

All you can do is apologize, it is up to the other person to accept it!
You might ask yourself, why do you say mean things. I mean, what motivated you to do that in the first place?....is it that someone else did or said something to you first that perhaps they should have apologized to you for but didn't? You can catch more flies with honey than with salt! You might need a rest or vacation, or what ever you can do to make you relax or have fun.....get away or just slow down? Maybe new friends?

Hallmark has a card that reads:

Some people know when to shut-up.
Some people don't.

Inside:
I guess I'm more of a 'don't'
Sorry.

Sometimes a simple 'sorry' is best.
