I have a gateway notebook laptop, with the pen and the screen that rotates. My mouse pad has worked fine since i have had it, which has been about 3 months. Then this morning it all of a sudden quit working. I have no idea what the problem is. The pointer works when I hook a mouse into the outlet, but my mousepad on the computer isnt working. What could the problem be? I have already checked it out in control panel, but it doesnt have anything to fix it. Please give me a solution to this problem.

its under warranty.
send it in to get fixed.

Did you delete a driver for it? Did you adjust a setting that configures it to turn off for any reason?
If you can't think of anything go into system restore and restore windows to the latest date before you experienced the problem. If that doesn't work it may be a hardware issue.
