Once word document is ready
Tools
Protection
Fill in the criteria for windos Xp / type password for other
reconfirm the password
save document
reopen if done properly will ask for password

For excel no point doing it sce it is still visible and document can be copied

folders i do not know but can check on net browsing

>User accounts
>creat your user account with password
>while starting computer start it in your account by typing your userame & password .So you can't see other's documents and other's can't see your documents

You can use Folder Lock or Encrypted Magic Folders these software are very good but you have to purchase them.

you do get lot of softwares online to password protect folders. you can try to search for them

go to download.com & in search bar at the top type "folder access", in the search page click on the program i.e." folder access" & click download ,voila

if it is in word just click on options in tools, then click on security options. Then its pretty much common sense on how to find it from there.
