and I suggest natural paths people give me a thumbs down? I have seen what medication did to my sons father and how it made him suicidal. I see too many kids on psychiatric medication when a more natural, healthier approach can be used. If someone asks for an opinion about how the situation should be handled, and I give my opinion people have issues with it. I don't understand why some people are so quick to choose the easy path that masks symptoms rather then a permenant path that deals with the actual problems. Even a very good friend of mine who has a psychology degree and works with people who have emotional issues on a daily basis agrees with me.

Momof3, I completely understand. Preservatives and sugar are a main source of depression and insanity. And then you get these medications that you take to help one ailment and yet they cause other ailments and/or death. Yet there is no issue with prescribing these meds until people outside the studies die (when it has already shown to cause death in studies).

People should open their minds a little more and educate themselves about the meds they and their children are taking.

As for the person who would rather take meds then not talk to their family, I apologize that I do not remember your name, I would rather and have cut my family off if they were that negative then take meds to be able to deal with them. That's just my opinion though, and it is your life to live. I can only refer you to do something different. My health as a whole is more important to me and my son then my mothers abusive behavior.

I have the same problem....My sis has a daughter with with Crohns disease and basically that 7 yr old has been on so many meds it's already severely damaged her liver, and when i ask my sister about doing natural things, (no prepackaged foods.....) the answer I get is that it's just to much work. It's so much easier just to give them a pill and treat that symptom the only proplem with it is then you have to give them another pill to treat the side effect. I found that also applied with my adhd son

That's fine for some people, but some has to have medication. My family has been driving me mad for many, many years. I finally had to start taking a antidepressant or I was going to become suicidal or lose my mind. So it was either stay away from my family and have no contact with them at all or take medication. I don't want to be away from my family even though they are nuts, they are still my family so I had to do something. If a person can deal with their problems without it, then so be it, but if they can't, medication is really good.

My wife is a herbalist, and she comes across that problem all the time.

The drug manufacturers have managed to brainwash doctors and patients alike into looking down on natural remedies, even if they are proven to work, and even though those same manufacturers use herbal substances as basic ingredients all the time.

St John's wort has been shown to be as efficient for depression as most medications, but without the side effects.
Pharmaceutical companies have managed to ban it in Ireland and the UK.

As Einstein said "...there are no limits to human stupidity."

Some people think they're for crackpots. Don't take the thumbs-downs personally. It's just people disagreeing, and that's okay. You can give them a thumbs-down, too.

I think natural remedies can be good, depending.
