Yes, I remember them. You used to put quarters in it for so many minutes. Even if you decide you wanted it off, there was no switch to turn it off. On many family trips we used them. There were even some motel with the pay radio. I am only 45 years old and I remember them. My parents would take us on vacation by car and we checked into many a motel with kitchenettes also. My parents would look for the motels that had swimming pools and kitchenettes.

I have a great story. When my kids were way younger, we came to our hometown and stayed in a motel with my mom. There was one of those in the room and my mom gave my three-year-old son a quarter and told him to put it in. He did, then endured the bumpy ride for a few minutes. After it was done, he went back to the slot where he put the quarter in and said, "Where's my gum?"
