A job is a place where you go everyday and do various tasks and have certain obligations. At the end of a certain term every month you will be handed a "pay check". It will look similair to your government check but it will be one you have actually earned.

Pretty nifty idea huh?

By the way, before you have baby number 17, try to plan ahead. If you don't want a baby, try to obstain or use protection, do not kill said baby.

Just a few drops of wisdom as you try to mature in life.

I can't even respond to this. You covered it all pretty much. I am sure you will get hate mail from the liberals that think it is totally fine that all of our money go to the lazy people in this society that live off milking the system. I apologize for those comments - they know not what they say. :)

Today's Welfare requires a person to work at least 20 hours, if able.
Not all people on Welfare have children. There are several barren women on the system. There are elderly, mentally ill and the mentally handicapped individuals. Not to mention those who are disabled due to an accident or major injury because they worked hard at their job.
It is true there are many bad apples in the basket, ignorant of their place in this life. These abusers of Welfare should only be allowed one child per adult. There are too many half brothers and half sisters running around due to men spewing their seed like piss in the wind and ignorant women willing to lay around breeding like rabbits.

I don't think you understand exactly who is on welfare. Most illegals are on welfare. It's very difficult for anyone else who actually needs it to get it.

And by the way, there is no baby 17-the Clinton Administration passed a law years ago that limits the amount of children you can have on welfare to two. But that's not to say that the illegals use other people's ID's b/c Medicaid and welfare do quit issuing photo ID's last year in order to accommodate the Mexicans.

After reading what some of these people have to say, I'd say maybe you should think about these things before you judge. Sometimes life has a funny way of turning things around on you. If you think you are one of the forturnate ones who just tiptoes through the raindrops without getting wet, maybe you should not be so smug.
That's just a few drops of wisdom as YOU try to mature in life.

Well for one I have a job and I receive food stamps. So its not just for people who don't work, it's for people that can't make it with what they have. I am 22 with 3 kids. I had my first at the age 14. I was working then also. If you want to be a dick about whats going on with you government money ask the damn government. Second, it looks like you need the drops of wisdom, have some respect man people just want to live.

Not all people on welfare want to be. I was one of those people years ago. Thanks to a Dead Beat Dad I had to be. I had a job and so did he. He decided he didn't want to be a father anymore. He left me and our daughter. I had a house payment, car payment, day care and insurance. I had to get on food stamps and draw a subsidized check because someone wouldn't pay child support. That has been 17 years ago. He still hasn't paid a dime, but I go to school and work. He sits on his a** mooching off anybody he can.

You know, not everyone on welfare is like that. Some people are mentally handicapped. Some people have fallen on hard times and are trying to turn their lives back around.

On the other hand, some take advantage of the system. I don't believe in welfare being completely cut out, but we need major reform!

A lot of people on public assistance WORK. You try to figure out how to support yourself and one child on....

$8/hour x 40 hours a week x 4 weeks a month = 1280
Subtract taxes of 15% = 192 leaving 1088
Subtract $650 rent on 1 bedroom apartment = $438
Subtract $150 utilities = $288
Subtract $350 childcare = -$62
UH OH what about transportation, food, clothes, etc...

Welfare is a social safety net for those temporarily going through difficulty. It's not meant for the long haul. It barely covers all the expenses anyway. A job does that much better!

Perhaps you should take more than a few "drops" of wisdom yourself.
Some of these people are Veterans who fought for you stupid a$$ and are now handicapped and can't get a job or work. Some of these people live in areas that are very depressed and there aren't any jobs for them to work. And by the way Buff BOY, its abstain not obstain.
Grow up and shut up!
