It's just a figure of speech. A phrase. You're too greedy. You wan't the best of both worlds. Like you want to be married, but you want a boyfriend too.
A figure of speech is all it is.

According to Wikipedia "To wish to have one's cake and eat it too" is to want more than one can handle or deserve, or to try to have two incompatible things. This is a popular English idiomatic proverb, or figure of speech.
The phrase's earliest recording is from 1546 as "wolde you bothe eate your cake, and haue your cake?" alluding to the impossibility of eating your cake and still having it afterwards; the modern version (where the clauses are reversed) is a corruption which was first signaled in 1812.

that's funny - of course, you want to eat your cake, but do you want a piece or the whole thing? This phrase usually refers to someone who wants it all, despite the consequences. hey, that's like the entire world, oh, except for George Clooney, he's fighting for the people in Africa - bet they'd like some cake.
