Yes it's effective 99%. Nothing is ever full proof except saying no. The injection contains hormones that trick your body into believing that you are pregnant so that you don't ovulate.

Depo Provera is a hormone injection that lasts for 3 months to prevent pregnancy. The injection contains synthetic progesterone and no estrogen. Depo Provera is 97-99.7% effective as birth control. It does not protect against reproductive tract infections, including HIV/AIDS.

70% of women using Depo Provera gain weight. Almost half of the women using Depo Provera gain more than 5 pounds after one year of use. Many women gain more than 10 pounds.

Women who want to become pregnant may stop using Depo Provera at any time. For some women, fertility returns immediately. For others, it may take 6-18 months or longer for the body's hormone cycle to go back to normal.

well it doesn't make everyone fat...what these chemicals do is kinda trick the body into think it's pregnant. with the depo shot it's a 12 week dose of these chemicals. when a womans body thinks it's pregnant it stops producing eggs. a woman often gains weight as well durring pregnancy. so if she has an unhealthy diet and doesn't exercise they yeh she may gain what's called depo weight. if either one had been sexually active before they began their relationship...then they really should be using another form of protection as well......why you may ask....depo is about 99.7% effective against pregnancy if taken properly.....but doesn't do a damn thing against protecting a person from a sexually transmitted infection.

Ya, fat, I've seen it.They also have it now where you stop menstruating. This has been a concern and people assume it will not be healthy ..but,,others think that because back in the day women were often pregnant so obviously didn't menstruate as ofter and now with birth control the do it too often .

There are risks to consider. Read this recent article at the Mayo Clinic website. Remember, if you have side effects, it will take 3 months for the hormones to be out of your system - so, 3 months of side effects.

it's better if she takes the pills daily. The injection takes a little longer to get out of your system.

If it's depro it works but it makes 80% of the users fat, it's a good choice if used correctly you can be sterile up to 4yrs.
