I agree with "AA blah blah blah", actually I'd go further, I have a real hate for the program.
If you're a liquor drinker, ask them at your local package store not to sell to you. They're actually pretty good about it in my experience. If you're a beer or wine drinker, you're going to have to find your will power, it's everywhere.
How about reading "Rational Recovery" by Jack Trimpey? I found it at my local library. Or visit: http://www.rational.org/ Many swear by them.
I got involved with non-AA recovery Yahoo groups, primarily SOS: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/sossaveourselves/
and anti-AA groups:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/without_aa/
and
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/12-step-free/
Gave me something to do in all the time I freed up from drinking.
Something else I used to do, as soon as I got home, I put pj's on. When I got the urge to go to the store at night (when most of my urges were), it seemed like such a hassle to get dressed, etc.

He can take antabuse, which will make him very sick or even dead if he drinks alcohol.
He needs to find new friends and abandon his drinking buddies.
(They won't want anything to do with him, anyhow)
He needs to stay away from places where alcohol is sold, like bar rooms. (Nobody ever went into a bordello to listen to the piano player)
What he really needs to do is to start making as many changes in his life style as he possibly can. Maybe move, maybe get a different job, listen to different kinds of music, wear bright-colored clothing, shave and shower every day, anything different at all to break up the old habits.

If your that tempted then it seems maybe you arent just ready to quit yet.
If you dont want it ...you wont want it.
But I suppose you could make it more difficult to procure by hiding your ID pulling your plugs out of your car/truck. that way when you want to go to the store you have to hunt for the ID then the spark plugs then you have to put them in connect the wires then you could hide the keys too.
Id reccomend doing this once you are home and setteled in for the night WITHOUT alcohol.Make sure youve got your food smokes whatever for the night then hide away all your stuff. So it makes going out a pain in the as*.

AA Blah Blah Blah....
Well, you can get rid of your ID, but some where some how , if you want to buy it you will...end of story.
You have to NOT WANT to buy it period....thats it...no tricks no games, no babysitters....it's called strength....Recovering Alcoholics use it everyday....they also use the fellowship of AA when they cannot do it alone...that is the point of AA.

I don't think this is the solution to your problem especially if you are hanging out on the streets. My friend hangs with other street people and they are always drinking plus they share. I would suggest you tell the local market etc. not to sell to you. Make something up that you got into trouble, went to jail etc, last time you had a drink.

Commit a crime, and get sent to jail. You won't be able to buy alcohol for a while.
Alternatively, just DON'T BUY IT. No one is forcing you into those stores. You won't quit drinking until you really want to, and then buying it won't even be an issue. If you can't do it yourself, and you won't get help from AA, then it's just not going to happen.

You have to stick with your choice.
You will be surrounded by alcohol the rest of your life and you will be tempted more times than anyone can say.
It's your choice. You can control it or it can control you.
I'm proud of you for your decision to beat it.
Be strong... stay strong... You can do it!
Just a thought, ever think about hypnosis?
I've heard great things about this person...
