I suppose your intention is to protect a zipped folder with password if so let me tell u the step by step from scratch(assuming u r using XP)

Create a Zipped folder
1.right click on the folder u want to zip
2..Select send to----compressed folder

You folder is zipped

Now protecting using password

1.double click on compressed folder Icon of target file
2.Click on file-- add password

When u open next time It will ask For a password

If u have winzip installed in computer

1.Right click on target Folder
2.Select winzip--Add to Zip file
win zip will open u have to click on "I Agree Button"
3.U will get a add window
On bottom of that window u have an option to add a password

I guess above option will work for u
