Get a second opinion NOW. If you are in that much pain and Tylenol is not helping there could be an underlying condition. Normally your pubic bone and hips stretch during pregnancy so if a second doctor rules out any complication ask your husband to massage your hips and back for you. Try applying a heating pad to your hips - not on your belly though.

Firstly, I am so sorry you are going through this and I know it doesn't help for your doctor to be so dismissive about it. I am 32 weeks pregnant with #5 and I have been having similar problems. The pain is torturous. It makes what should be a pleasant experience the exact opposite. After receiving the same responses from "professionals" that you have, I did some research of my own. I came across this website that actually gave a name to what we are enduring: Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction. I had never heard of it either. Don't worry, it is not life threatening (even if it feels like it) but it is fairly common and there are things you can do to relieve the pain. I encourage you to check out the website and try to stay positive. You are not crazy and believe it or not, it WILL be over soon. Take care of yourself and I hope this helps. Yes it is normal. You didn't feel it with your 1st because it was your 1st. This time around your body isn't as tone as it was last and the baby is able to sit lower in your pelvis because you have given birth before. Our body has a memory and it is working from that memory to get you ready for labor. Your hips and stuff hurt because of relaxin working on your joints. If you spend alot of the day on your feet this make it worse for you.
Try enjoiing a nice bath or a swim if you can the water helps to equalizes your weight and relieves some of that pressure.
Also you can use a rebozo techniqic to help relieve the hip and pubic bone pain. Use a long scarf or flat sheet and wrap it around your hips and bring it together in the front and tie it tightly, this puts pressure back on those bones and pushes them back towards one another. It will not hurt the baby. As far as pain in the perinum area try sitting on a birth ball (physical fitness ball) it's soft surface makes it gentle on your bottom plus it promots good posture. You can also try heat therapy to help relieve the discomfort. The easiest way to do this is a rice sock. To make one of your own get a tube sock and fill it with long grain rice tie the neck of the sock shut in a knot or sew shut. Place sock in the micro for about 1.5 mins and see how it feels can be heated up to 3 mins in 30 second intervals, just keep checking it and give the rice a shake. If you burn the rice dump it and refill.
I hope some of these ideas help hang in there you don't have much longer to go. Take time to nuture mommy if you can.

I had this with my son so yes i say that this is normal. Every pregnancy is different. Believe me my two were different as night and day. If it is still bothering you every time you go and see your doc bring this up and if he says take tylenol tell him that it doesnt work and that you cant sleep because of the pain and the pain let alone lack of sleep is causing you to be stressed which you know also is not good for your baby and then see what he says. I hope this helps and that you feel better. Also I have heard some say that this can mean your going to have a preterm labor

my second child was the same...although my pain started at about 4 months...i couldnt move...i had to SIT..no walking hurt, laying down hurt, even "lounging" hurt...i even had to sleep sitting up.my doc put me on tylenol with codine and also induced labor a few days before my due date. KEEP complaining, because sometimes they think it is the "normal" pregnancy pains...Also...be assured the pain will go away the INSTANT the baby is born! I did it with no drugs simply because the induct went so fast, and as soon as she came out, I felt like I could run a marathon! Good luck to you and "I feel YOUR pain!"
