I started listening to music when I was born - that was in 1951. My mother played Boogie Woogie piano. She played records such as "Volare", "Fever" by Peggy Lee, "Banana What a Crazy Fruit" and "Chantilly Lace" by Big Bopper. My first favorite record was "The Lonely Bull" by the Tijuana Brass. I also loved Bobby Darin. I started music lessons at age 5 and played flutaphone then flute.
Yes, Hotel California is a classic. I have a favorite long live version I downloaded from Napster, but don't know what album it is from.

I don't remember not liking music but the first "Hit" I noticed was probably Sultans of Swing and the fist thing I owned was an 8 track of Aerosmith's Draw The Line which I now own on Cd.

I gained an appreciation for music when I was fairly young, probably around 7th grade, and it has been a huge part of my life since then. I am going to say my first album that got to me was 'Saves the Day - through being cool' Its funny though because all my favorite bands now (LedZep, Hendrix, Doors, etc.) are all things my father used to listen to.

I started listening to music whenI got my first two cassette tapes around 1987ish. I was about 6 years old. The tapes were "Licenced to Ill" by The Beastie Boys, and "Weird Al Yankovic - 3D" by Weird Al Yankovic.

Good stuff! Somehow, the mix or rap and comedy turned me into a ska/punk rock guy. I still know my roots though....bro....
