We need to get off our dependency on oil and switch to hydrogen and other alternative energy sources!

Well, maybe you are right about Chavez. But let us remember that Chavez was freely elected. And the U. S. is now fighting in Iraq supposedly for the same reason: to promote democracy. At least, that is what the American public is being told.

So, perhaps the policies of Chavez are horrible, his comments and behavior are poor to bad at best, and he is ugly to look at. But just because he has policies that are not liked by the U.S. doesn't mean that he is worse than any other leader, including the likes of the President of Russia. If the U.S. favors ousting every government is deems to be unsavory and unlikeable, then does the U.S. sincerely favor democracy, or just democracy on its own terms?

ooh, I didn't know that!

Chavez is a clown, really, it seems to me...I didn't realize Dems were 'backing' him. It is an amusing strategy though to offer home heating oil to poor Americans...that I think is brilliant! What power oilrich nations have to play games in our political arena.
*that* should be the takehome point with Chavez for everyone, and we should be working hard to do something about that.
The hundreds and hundreds of billions to create more terrorists in iraq isn't how I'd have spent the money to deal with our worrying about oil supply for our economy...

I drive past Citgo cuz the gas stinks!
Always made my car perform badly.
I've been feeling bad about going to BP, which has the best gas imho, because of their slimy pipeline antics...

As long as Americans are employed and the price is right I`ll buy Citgo. What we really need is use the 2000 acres of the 91,000,000 acres in Anwar to get our own oil. The same oil that Canada is sucking out of the ground just 60 miles away across the Alaska border in Canada and selling back to us. What we need is to get our own oil 45 miles of the Florida coast. That same oil that the Chinese Communist are drilling for instead of us and keeping for themselves.
What else is ironic is that back in 1995 one of the excuses not to drill in Anwar was that we wouldn`t get the benefits for 5 to 7 years. That means we would have gotten the benefits in 2000. In 2000 they said the same thing, no benefits for 5 to 7 years. That would have been last year.
The last irony is that 36 years ago my University professor told me that there was only 30 years of oil left. I believed him.

I was a Citgo customer before I even knew, because the prices are LOWER.

When I found that the gasoline was not middle-eastern, I was even happier.

Chavez sounds like a horrible b**tard! But he is an *angel* compared to the WhiteHouse/Tex/Israel/Arab crowd.

It is a measure of how low our leaders and "friends" have become when a man as despicable as Chavez looks good by comparison!!!

Hmmm.. got any evidence that he cares nothing for his own people....seems they love him from everything I see he was after all elected by popular vote not the electoral election we have on occasion. Why is it okay for George W. to call nations the axis of evil and its wrong for Chavez to call W. the Devil?

I don't shop at Citgo. I don't support anyone who hates America.
He is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

I make note of the fact that not one American gas rip-off corporation has contributed 1 red-cent toward helping poor Americans.
