I have six tattoos, one being on the back of my neck and that is one of the few that didn't hurt. The ankle and foot hurt the most, the low back was painful, the two above my breast didn't hurt. Kinda depends on the persons pain tolerance from what I can tell! I love tattoos...just make sure you get something you love and will want forever. Good luck!!

If you are a woman? (Never know these days)

I don't suggest getting a tattoo on your neck if you dye your hair?

Many hair dyes on the market today effect the ink in tattoos and you will have an alergic reaction that is both painfull, oozy and itchy as hell. As you know, if you have ever dyed your own hair... It is close to impossible not to make a mess and not to get any on your neck. That is why I am saying... FYI just so you know.

It doesn't hurt any more than anywhere else. Tattoos are needles, skin is sensitive.

I have multiple tattoos, one being a small butterfly on the back of my neck (yes hair does hide it and even when i put it up people dont mostly notice it).

I dont remember it hurting any more or any less than the other tattoos that i have.

I have 2 on my neck. One behind my left ear and one on the right side. They hurt just as bad as the others. It's a little uncomfortable to sleep and be careful when you brush you hair if it's long.

Yes!!!!!!!! I got a small butterfly at the nape of my neck, so that I could hide it when I am at work. I also have 1 on my upper arm,one on my ankle, and one on my lower back. And the one on my neck hurt the worst. I would not recommend it, unless you have a high pain threshold.

i had a piece done on the back of my neck also. at first it felt like paper cut, but it was not all that bad. in cases where i dont want it shown, i just leave my hair down.

I know you are NOT planning on getting one on your neck? Help you if you are!!! What are your future goals in life?? RE: Income making? You will NEVER be taken seriously in life with a tattooed neck. Think about your future and not the NOW!!! Cool now, is not ALWAYS COOL later. Ultimately it is your demise!!!!

Yes i found it more uncomfortable than the ones on my arms and back....I think it has something to do with being closer to bone....
