I wasn't at my closing and here's what you need to do:
Call your attorney. Most likely, he will have you fill out "power of attorney" paperwork. This is a legal form that allows him to sign all paperwork on your behalf.

You do not need to physically at the closing. If it is impossible for you to make it, they will fax the paperwork. All of the paperwork will already have your name on it.
