Only when white people say it. Otherwise it's cool. It's kinda like if your brother called you an 'a ss hole' you wouldn't be that offended, but if a total stranger called you one, you would probly be upset-and that doesn't even include the history of the 'N' word, which makes it so much more powerful than something like 'butthead'.
Which brings me to your second question, No-it's not to get white people jealous...Why would we care if you guys were jealous you couldn't use that word around us?
Third question: Yes, we will beat you up. As a black person, it always feels really good to beat up someone who calls you that, and it's even better when other blacks are around because you can let them get a piece of the action too.
America censored the word because of its roots. America is ashamed of its past (as it should be) and is now trying to change things.

I think that is hilarious. If I was a person who cared about having one up on the white man, I'd think that was a good idea. However, I don't care.
People say all sorts of dumb things, (n)igga, is just one of them. That people want to say it, ok, knock yourself out if that's what floats your boat. If someone were to direct that word towards me, I would feel hurt inside, no matter what color person said it. That word just conjures up feeling of a really bad time for black people. Why would anyone in their right mind want to go back to that?
