No you are not. I also thought it was a very good movie, wish they would make a sequel, critics don't know what they were talking about saying it was rubbish!

I thoroughly enjoyed it but there was probably no follow up because they had exhausted most Dracula/Frankenstein/werewolf mythology. Plus he got the girl, so if there was a follow up they'd have to kill her off and that would suck. As much as I would give my eyeteeth to see Hugh Jackman looking very sexy with a bit crossbow, I have a feeling it would be a bad sequel, thus dampening my enthusiasm for the first movie, knowing what it would spawn.
So instead of lobbying for a sequel, I think we should lobby for more light-hearted horror. Less sinister serial killer genre, more classic horror figures. Marvellous.

I suppose it's nice that you saw something in it that appealed to you, but I for example, who have been a great fan of that genre for decades --- and like both of the movie's stars a lot actually --- was for some reason just left cold by this one. I would recommend "Constantine", "Blade", "Brotherhood of the Wolf" or even "Underworld" over "Van Helsing" anytime, but that's just me. Movies are indeed very subjective and personal things, so once again, each to his own.

I was good entertainment I guess, but I think it disappointed a lot of horror fans. The movie was more like a computer game. (Like a lot of movies nowadays.)
It should have been much, much better with the amount of work that went into it.
Unless it's a movie about some maniac going berserk slaughtering college kids no ones interested.

THe usual, it didnt pull enough money at the box office and recieved universally bad reviews. The stars have both gone on to do fairly critically acclaimed films so it would probably take a lot of cash to get them to do a second film. Tis a shame, cos I quite enjoyed it as well. It was just mindless entertainment which was harmless.

I really enjoyed it - saw it at the cinema twice, and have watched it quite a few times on DVD. Yes, of course it's a load of hokum, but it's very well produced and great fun.
The only shame is that Kate Beckinsale's character died at the end - a sequel would be less fun without her. Perhaps they could find a role for Monica Belluci ...?

The story was completed. He killed Dracula and released the Valerious family from their curse.
It is one of my favorites, but if they were to do a sequel, I would be afraid they would screw up the integrity of the story.

I also loved it, I was mocked by my supposed friends but I know that deep down they loved it, they just couldn't admit it to themselves............
I though there was going to be a sequel but it seems not, well I guess he did beat Mr Hyde, Dracula, werewolves AND Frankenstein, who else can he fight.....well I guess there's the mummy, but O'Connell might have already beat him to that!!
