What do you think is right with the United States?

What's wrong with the country? Baby Boomers. Their greed for everything right now for them and screw everyone else has put us in a position where we're shipping jobs at all levels overseas so someone can make a little more profit, putting us in a position where we actually make very little here and are just really buying and selling crap someone else made to each other. The US cannot survive as a service economy.

That, and we're losing a sense of who we are. This nation was built on the idea that no matter where you came from, you could become an American and share in the common culture. Now, we seem to be doing everything we can to downgrade our common culture in favor of multicultural bulls**t. My ancestors and everyone else's came here because wherever they were living before sucked enough that they looked around one day and said, "We need to get the hell out of here." When they got here, they decided that they were then Americans, and while they kept some parts of their culture, they also adopted the American culture, learned to speak English, etc. Now, we're doing everything we can to make sure people don't have to learn English, and that they don't need to integrate into the rest of society. We've got entire sections of cities where you can't find a single sign in English.

What's right with the country? There's still a spirit that this country's had since its inception, a sense that this is the greatest place on Earth. We still one of the most innovative nations on Earth, we inquire and explore and discover more than any other country, and we (well, at least most of us) can unite when we need to when called upon.

Note to others: If all you can write about these questions deals with the politics of this nation, you need to open your eyes. If your success or failure or your attitude depends on who lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue or who runs Congress or your state government, you shouldn't even have the right to vote.

What I think is wrong with the United States is we are not controlling our boarders....we are the only country that has such porous boarders with a country that is literally invading us.

What I think is right is that we are the worlds police force....some where there is an oxi-moron, Not to be con fused with the Moronic crowd of Sheeple that follow Michael Moore and the flamboyant few that bash the President. At least he is fighting a war on terrorism. That is a good thing and it is what is also right about America.

We are a very ignorant country. Let me explain we seem to think that we can fix everybody elses problems but we can't fix our own. We have poverty going on right here in the States but our aid is going overseas. As far as what's right with the United States well we do have more freedom here than in other places in the world. We can believe in God or not, we can read what we want, we can say what we want.

Whats wrong is the American people are too entertained to give a rats behind about whats going on in this country let alone do anything about it. Whats right is corporate bosses can steal the retirement savings of their employees and fleece the American people with big no bid Haliburton contracts, WITH impunity, because everybody is being entertained. Right for some that is.

Too many power hungry politicians doing what best suits them and their interests. President too eager to send in young men to fight wars for his own agenda. We are resented because of the attitude of superiority. Not enough good being done such as health care for all. We need more programs for youth today to keep from having to build more jails and prisons later. Good - Things change and we can still be hopeful and positive.

We are way too insecure. Pre-emptive strikes and all that jazz? Unnecessary.

Everybody always thinks someone is out to get them. Heck just look at the jealousy in man-woman relationships (sorry, can't comment much on homosexuals).

What's right? That at least some basic rights are being protected and that our economy is capitalistic.

What is wrong: ACLU, NEA, UAWU, CBS, ABC, NBC, NPR, PBS, CNN, TIME, NEWSWEEK, NEW YORK TIMES, Hollywood elite, Dan Rather, Michael Moore, whining liberals, environmental wackos who know NOTHING about the environment, Air America, Al Franken, MoveOn.org, flag burners, abortionists, slums, ghettos and welfare, Clintons, Kennedys and the DNC.

What is RIGHT. GOP, Fox News, News Max, Rush, Condi, Michelle Malkin, David Limbaugh, FREEDOM, USAF, USN, USA, USMC, our Hospitals, higher education institutions (with the exception of the liberal professors). Our GENEROSITY to the world when there is a natural disaster.

Wrong - naively trying to do too much, and be too much for the rest of the world, and not taking care of ourselves

Right - we are a kind and generous nation of people for the most part, probably the reason for above problem

The problem with this great nation the USA is that we are trying to keep every body happy and that's impossible. They kill our citizen and we get scare about what the world is going to think and we don't act. Every body mistreat us, kill us, bomb us, etc. and we are more worry about what the world is going to think and the world and our enemies don't respect us for that. I think that when we get hit we have to hit back and later worry about the rest of the world. We have to take classes from Israel about this topic.
