Out of the all the quarterbacks in the NFL, who is historically regarded as having the strongest throwing arm? Not necessarily taking accuracy or stats into account, which one was known best for pure arm strenght when throwing the ball?

Brett Favre has broken the fingers of his recievers an innumerable amount of time.

Elway had an arm, too, but he also had the Denver atmosphere.

Actively, I believe Favre, Kitna (hard to believe, but I've seen him toss Hail Mary's into the endzone from their own twenty) and Vick have the strongest arms of current NFL players. Peyton Manning has a great arm, too.

Brett Favre took $100 from Jerry Glanville his rookie season by betting him he could throw the ball into the upper deck of Fulton County Stadium. Glanville paid up. That kind of arm strength is hard to beat. Elway was awesome, too.

Elway - he could throw 80+ with no problem. Accuracy got shaky past 30 though. Next would have to be Jeff George (acutally he may have the strongest, but he was such a jerk!) and finally Farve.

Elway. On his first date with his wife they were playing catch. She said, "Show me the heat." He did and he broke her finger. And, if you can remember this from just after he retired: Coors had a commercial where Dan Patrick told a story about Elway. "When John was in college he would stand at home plate and give it everything he had but he could only barely make it over the center field wall. But you have to remember, that's a pretty far throw."
