A walk along the Regent's Canal. You can start at Portabello Market in the morning, and join the canal shortly after - check the A-Z for exact route but it's not far. I love Little Venice (around Warwick Avenue area). The cafes and restaurants along the canal tow-path are great for a mid-walk coffee. Taking a peek at the moored house boats is fun. They're wonderfully twee and pretty. From there, you'll continue past some huge mansions at the edge of Regent's Park and then it'll take you past London Zoo's avery. Shortly afterwards, you'll reach Camden Lock which is a great end to the journey. Plenty of shops, pubs and live music venues. Hope you enjoy it. Think you may have to leave the canal-side once or twice but you don't have to go far.

Hyde Park, if its nice. Sit and watch the madness of London pass you by. Plenty of green, benches and tress, the perfect escape on your own or a fantastic experience with the right company despite the drawing in of the autumn nights.
