My place is really small, ikea futon, noice leather chair however, and some other IKEA furniture. It's clean at least. Is this good enough? I can probably buy better furn, if I can figure out what to do with my old stuff (actually it's only 3 yrs. old since I just move in that long ago).

STOP trying to impress people.

I think that where you take a girl back to is extremely important, HOWEVER if you want to impress a girl it is going to be much less the actual size or contents of your apartment than it is your upkeep of it. I mean, how clean your apartment is will be the most important thing in dealing with it. If she doesn't have to step over dirty clothes and pizza boxes, if the sofa is clean and doesn't smell like dust or something worse, if your bed is made and has clean sheets, your room could be the size of a matchbox and she'll be comfortable.

As an aside, if you want to impress a girl (or at the very least, not give her a bad impression) make sure you keep all the...nerd touches to a minimum. I'm not saying you shouldn't have personal touches, but there is quite a difference between having the LOTR dvd and having a three foot diorama of frodo and sam almost making out. Get some artwork (or tasteful movie posters) and frame them. Get a color scheme and stick with it. Keep your toys in a box under the bed with your porno.

Along with the "clean your house" thing, make sure your kitchen and bathroom are extra spotless, as well as places she is likely to go (sofa, bed, shower) other places (closets) aren't as important. Oh, and one more thing, clean out and wash your car too.

What's most important is that the place is clean and relatively neat. Fancy furniture and decor isn't a huge issue (or if it is, then you may want to reconsider dating her)...but we typically don't care for slobs or too much clutter...

...of course messy won't bother some women either...but ya can't go wrong by having it clean/neat...

A mans apartment says alot about who he is. Women appreciate clean, neat and uncluttered places. They pay attention to little details, such as dishes in the sink, toilets are clean, and so on.
Your personal touches make a world of difference. Like family pics, candles, or whatever makes you feel like you are at home. Women notice everything in a mans place, it is kinda like an interview, or taking inventory.

What you have inside the apartment is not as important as how clean it is. I am more impressed by the way a man carries himself then by what he can afford. If the women you bring home are concerned more about whats in the apartment, then you're bringing home the wrong women.

Just keep it clean and neat.

A lot of women like it if the guy's got no stuff and a sparse apartment - they think they can add a woman's touch, and figure if you move in together, you won't clutter HER place up.

Well, at least it's better than a cardboard box under a bridge somewhere; but don't expect to sweep women off their feet with a bare essential cubbyhole. People do size up a person's personality as to how they live.

I believe it's not what you have in your apt. but how clean and organized you are. And I think you are on the right track as you already said it was clean. And being a clean and guy is impressive by far.

I would agree with you, keep it as clean as possible. Don't leave junk hanging around. It's important to smell nice and clean too. Keep it as light as possible, no dark dreary stuff and not a lot of stuff. One or two pictures of your happy family could help.

A clean apartment is way more important than a big apt.
