With my third pregnancy at about fifteen weeks I woke up that morning and went to the bathroom and (this is going to sound gross) I freaked out! I had passed a HUGE clot and had a little bit of bleeding, I was convinced I had flushed my child down the toilet and I was hysterical. We went to the emergency room and had an ultrasound and my daughter (who is now almost three) was moving around and just fine. The doctor said that sometimes old blood gets stuck between your placenta and the uterine wall and as your baby grows it puts more pressure on that area and eventually squeezes it out. It sounds like that is what happened to you. It's normal to be scared, and just to be on the safe side I would call your doctor just to make sure. But try not to stress out, I know it's easier said than done, but it's perfectly possible that everything is just fine. Good luck to you and your baby!

First of all, you should have called the doctor immediately. You aren't too bright to wait that out. So as soon as you're done reading all these emails that will tell you how stupid you are for not calling your doctor, you need to call your doctor, or page if they are not open yet. Yes, you could very well be miscarrying...at 13 weeks, you shouldn't be getting bleeding around the ime of your period anymore. OR if you've just had intercourse in the past 36 hours or so ago, that can cause light spotting. However, a doctor will tell you that light SPOTTING, usually pink or brown is normal after sex or a pelvic exam, but if you experience red bleeding at any time, you need immediate attention. Clumpy, as you describe it, is clotting and clotting is not a good sign at all.

Bleeding during in pregnancy should always be taken seriously (although a lot of the time its nothing to worry about), you need to see a doctor! And as for the miscarriage, speaking from experience I didnt feel pain until the miscarriages were under way not when I first started bleeding. But You should be ok as its was only spotting!

This could be several issues, First I'll tel you what I know best. I would contact the office and see if they can schedule you in.
Next, there is a pregnancy condition called cervical erosion. It's sounds bad but it's not. Just do a google search on it, it will make you feel a lot better.
Also, I had this happen to me, I had an exam, and two weeks later, I was intamite with my husnband and in the middle we smelled blood, we looked down and blood was everywhere, I had a scratch on my cervix from the exam, but this can also be a result foreplay, think creative, lol. And like a scab picked, it really bled like crazy, and took about a month to heal.
I wish you luck.

Spotting is common in pregnancy. If you have pain with it then i would be worried. It is your body still undecided about your missed periods. Sometimes you can call the doctors office and ask the nurse and she can help you. No real reason for the break through bleeding. Hope this helps.

Some women still have periods while they're pregnant, but it's really uncommon. Any bleeding should be checked by your Dr. You should at least call and leave a message with him or his nurse detailing what's happening. He may want you to come in and be checked. Better safe than sorry.

When you miscarriage it's a MESS.......... especially this far along. I did at 8 weeks and bled solid for 10 days straight.
Now, call your doctor. NOW. You need to go in today and make sure everything is ok, and you're not in the beginning stage of losing your baby. Get off the computer and get your coat. Bye. :)
