I am interested in going to New York to see THE COLOR PURPLE; I went online and the info given states it started in Dec. of '05 and ends "open run" what exactly does that mean? I need to determine thru what month will the show be in NY so that I can plan my trip. Please advise..........

'Open run' indicates that there is no end in sight.

Some plays have a limited run, usually because the star has other commitments or the theater has other shows booked.

I have been to New York&loved it,go to times square ticket office for half price tickets to a show,we saw Hairspray,don't know if you know it,it was a film with Rikki Lake in,well fab,the show exceeded all my expectations.We loved it.Hope you have a great time,also we managed to go iceskating in central park,get info before you go on the net&plan everything,that you want to do before you go.We also used the subways over there&there fine the latest we used them was 10.30. get a metro week card,it saves you alot,theres a conbinened 1for sub&bus,save you taxi fares!!have a great time.kitty.x
