My hubby (also black) uses just a low factor, 8-10 or something similar. Whatever your colour, skin burns, we have to protect ourselves. Take your Palmers with you too for extra moisturiser and mix it with your sun tan lotion. Enjoy yourself.

I would still take a high factor suncream. The higher the factor the better, the sun knows no difference between the colours of the skin and it is better to be safe than sorry. Don't get frazzled in the sun, slap generous amounts of cream all over the skin and wear a hat on your head.

Boots SOLTAN products are without doubt the best on the market. The only 5 Star rated suncream in the UK.
Factor 6 should be ok for darker skins. Apply liberally and often, depending on how how near the equator you are going and at what time of year.
Soltan aftersun is a lovely moisturiser for after the shower also.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS :)

I hate to interrupt this to you, yet black human beings do not use suntan lotion. they commonly have sufficient shade of their epidermis to forgo the tanning. possibly you meant sunscreen? if so, try something with a intense SPF and likewise make certain you get one it somewhat is water resistant. Then follow the guidelines on the bottle.

Hi,
Yes your skin will burn but it is not dangerous for you to burn.
You will not get skin cancer from the suns rays, It is only white skin that really has to be covered in sun cream.
