Christians say to gain heaven one must accept that it was Jesus' crucifixion and blood that gets one washed of his sin. The same book speaks of GOD refusing people a place in his kingdom because when he was sick, poor, etc. he was not given help by this very people. Now, how can we reconcile the fact that getting to heaven will depend on do unto others like you would like to be done unto you as most other movements and religions preach and the fact that you must accept that it was the blood of Jesus that provides the passage to salvation? In other words, can one love his neigbor as himself and not accept the shedding of blood but still make it to heaven? If not why not?

No, according to the Christian faith you must accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior to be granted entrance to heaven. John 3:16 explains it all. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, and he who believeth in him shall not parish, but have everlasting life". Meaning you will rise to heaven and live there for eternity once your human body has been shed.

From the moment we are born, our mission is simple. We need to make it heaven. To make it to heaven you must believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and the second person in the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). Christ suffered and died for all peoples so that you can make it heaven. You need to live and practice the ten commandments. If you sin, you need to confess your sins privately to God and then to a priest. You must repent so that your sins can be forgiven. Remember that God is Almighty and he knows all your sins, all your thoughts and deeds. You must be in a state of grace, that is that you must go to confession and be absolved from your sins, so if you should die at any moment you can be on your way to heaven. Even though a priest who represents Christ can absolve you from your sins, your soul is still stained. Its like a clean piece of wood and every time you sin a nail gets hammered into the wood. The nail gets removed by confession but, the hole remains. Remember that every time you sin there is a stain on your soul and no one, and I mean nobody can step foot in heaven with a stained soul. Therefore, you will go to Purgatory before going to heaven when you die. Purgatory is a place where everyone who has died and does not go to hell, go to get cleansed. Your length of cleansing depends on how badly stained your soul is. By the grace of God, he created Purgatory to have his children cleaned before going to live with him for all eternity. Now you can expect God to reject you and send you into the eternal flames of hell, if you do not repent, do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as your True Master and Redeemer, do not live the commandments he has given us, you are proud and arrogant, you commit unspeakable acts of sin and are not repentant of remorseful, you deliberately blaspheme his Holy Name and his Church.

Yes - you can. It's all a metaphor about the blood shedding thing...giving your life for someone else - because it's the nature and intent of the sacrifice made. Get it?

It is only through Jesus that you may recieve eternal life. He is the one who died to give the chance for all to come to God clean and without blemish.

Ok, I deny his existence. Should I care about this? What will happen to me? What's so bad about the prospect of going to this imaginary hell?
