High hill or high heels???
Never heard of high hill shoes lol but perhaps high heel shoes were invented because they make a womans leg look longer, more toned & sexier in general. Probably not the initial reason though.

High-heeled shoes are shoes which raise the heel of the wearer's foot significantly higher than the toes. When both the heel and the toes are raised equal amounts, as in a platform shoe, it is generally not considered to be a "high-heel." High-heels come in a wide variety of styles, and the heels are found in many different shapes, including stiletto, block, tapered, blade, and wedge. While high heels are today mostly associated with female shoe styles, they are also found in some specialist shoe designs worn by both sexes such as cowboy boots.

I think they were originally invented to make horse riding easier (ie you foot can stay in the stirrup without sliding out). I think they originally made their way into womens wear to make ladies look taller and the "helplessness" they invoke in a woman highlights the fact she does not need to work (similar to foot binding in chinese culture).

so you can dust higher objects in the home place and if there is a slight forward tilt on the shoes this lets you almost hover over the kitchen sink making it a lot easier to do the washing up lol

I thought it was something to do with the fact that when they're worn, the wearer's calf muscles naturally shorten and therfore fill out slightly, making the legs appear more shapely.

Seems that high heels (in one form or another) have been worn by both men and women for many centuries for various reasons. This site has some info. http://www.answers.com/topic/heel-shoe

They were invented by a man to ensure that girls had to struggle to walk on soft grass, cobbles, uneven pavements.

Because they make the female leg muscles tighten in order to balance, and that makes the legs look amazing.
