do you ignore a ringing phone? Or do you stop & answer it?

Ignore it. They'll call back later. I hate phones and try not to answer as much as possible. Any excuse to not answer the phone is good. Some excuses are a heck of a lot better. "busy" is a great excuse!

I answer it. If it's ringing and I'm super busy, the ringing phone will just irritate me more.

I have to answer the phone- I'm a switchboard operator and the phones have to come first no matter how busy I may be.

If I am REALLY busy I let the answering amchine get it, otherwise I answer the phone

It depends. Our phones here print out who is calling if it's within the company and that helps me decide if it's someone I want to deal with at the moment. =)

Always ignore it...that's what call screening and answers machines were invented for.

Let it ring - I do that even when I'm not "busy" sometimes.

I check the caller I.D. , then decide how busy I really am.
