My loft is currently a practising catholic I would like it to become a budhist loft as I think this would make much better use of the space,My parents have suggested a jewish loft as it is likely to make more money, but it is a good use of space I require not cash, and frankly I hate to bring cash into a religious argument

There are pluses and minuses associated with a conversion from Catholic to Buddhist.

Firstly, it will be a shock to realize that -- unlike Catholicism, Buddhism must be practiced every day!

Should you decide to go ahead, against your parents' wishes, please consider sound-proofing the loft. Not only will the constant chanting quickly get on their nerves, but the jingle-jangling of the bells will make them nuts.

On the plus side, the income generated from having a daily job of selling flowers---while not as lucrative as that which a Jewish loft would provide---is still something!

It's a give and take world, you know....so sound-proofing coupled with the flower sales at the airport is a reasonable compromise, yes?

Does it already stand up to current fire regulations, for burning incense. Also you might need to reinforce the floor to take the weight of the buddha, flowers and other offerings needed.

Otherwise if the loft has no objection to the change of its religion, go with the one that suits it best. I.e. a pigeon loft.
