Is there anything that you can do after you have lost your car/job/ money to the lawyer and the credit card companys have turned you in to collections? Before all this, I was a 4.0 student with a good credit line and had everything. I got in an accident which the cops lied and I get to go to jail for a year. I am trying to figure out how to rebuild my life. i have no idea where to start. now I know why people kill themselves. basically, I will be coming back into society with nothing. just the clothes on my back

Because criminals make a clear choice to commit criminal acts. They have to live with the consequences of said decision. Those consequences include distrust and ridicule for the rest of their life, or until they PROVE otherwise.

,First of all don't be vane. Be thankful to the all mighty God that you have life. Your life is not over. I myself have been through the ringer. I filed bankruptcy got myself back in school and now I am working and driving a BMW 325i.

You can do it baby!! Hold your head up high, be strong, hang in there. Do you have a support system, parents, friends, girlfriend, etc?

I have also been a victim of being falsely accused for something I did not do, people can be cruel and .......... you can not condemn a man for the rest of his life for one freakin mistake.

That's why there is so much crime, there should be more programs to help those who are returning to society after being imprisoned. Just because a man has been to jail doesn't mean he isn't supposed to be able feed and care for himself just like anyone else. he has paid his dues. Let it go!!!!!

I'm rooting for you. ^You question has inspired me to once again request a government grant to start a non-profit organization that will assist ex-cons in returning to society and being productive citizens.

If not, I don't know if you are a religious man, but find a church that you feel comfortable visiting and start up new friendships and networks.

Let go of the pride to, that'll kill ya spirit faster than anything.

Also think about relocating. I did it moved from NY to NC with nothing but the clothes on my back -

I know how you feel. I had to come back to society (after leaving my abusive husband), with just the clothes on my back as well as three kids. I ended up living in a homeless shelter for 35 days. Fortunately, my mother and my new boyfriend helped me get back on my feet. Years later, I'm actually better off now than I was before. The moral of the story is that you will probably need to lean on others' help for a few years. Good luck!

You determine your fate once released. And yes you can make a come back. All people make mistakes and sounds like you really messed up. You are in control and yes you will have MANY OBSTACLES TO OVER COME, MANY WILL DIS-TRUST YOU AND TURN AWAY. You did the crime and the time. Now start over , it will not be easy and you will make the choice how it turns out. Be strong and true to yourself. Maybe start off at schools telling kids what happened to you and how hard it is to get back into the work force and the many obstacles they will face if they mess up. Make your plan now and stick to it. You can still be anything you want to be, it will just be a lot harder and have to prove yourself even more..My best to you and good luck!

it's gonna be a tough road ahead... having a record (as you have claimed being framed and all), people already earmarked you and labeled you a bad seed. like a scar on your skin, it'll be hard erasing one.

best is try to start low... do good deeds. a streetsweeper, garbage collector, waiter, etc... anything low, and try to be humble. they may ridicule, yes... or reject you. either way, stay focus and remind yourself, i've been down to the gutters and must survive. stay calm and focus. don't be tempted or give in to temptation and just try living a clean slate. difficult, yes... but doable, attainable. ny prayers stays with you... good luck...
