Hmmm, some different answers are possible here.
Some might say Haiti, others some of the African nations. then again, there's Antarctica -- no known economic activity there at all!
According to a google search, Sierra Leone tops the list as the poorest nation on Earth, followed by Niger. In Europe the title goes to Moldova, in Asia the title-holder is East Timor, and haiti wins in the Western Hemisphere.

There are many poor countries in the world, but I think the poorest ones are the ones without any hope for brighter future in sight. My vote goes to Somalia, Cuba and parts of Brazil.

If you live America it is you assets or available cash VS the sea of red ink money you owe for home mortgages,student loans,business loans,credit card debt or any other source you owe but do not have the ability to pay off! Which is 85% of American families who are dirt poor living in a plastic world of high finance & phony make believe. So yeah the picture on the surface can be painted bright & then there is reality! Most of you on yahoo lack the ability to be honest in assessment of your true situations. Isn't high time you pay attention to what's going on in your own country first?
