Weaknesses: Young QB will have to have growing pains at some point, revamped secondary really hasn't had a test yet. Special teams coverage has been spotty.
Strengths: Monster front 7 on defense, good pass rush, great run defense. Best runningback, tight end, and fullback in the league. High scoring offense. Good on both sides of the ball.
Just wanted to respond to the guy below me: The chargers spread the passing game like few other teams are able to do, truthfully they have some weapons at WR. Keenan McKardell the wily vet, or 6'5" Vincent Jackson. It's just hard for them to get the stats to back it up when they're on a team with LT and Gates. And as far as overusing LT? He hasn't carried any more than he has in previous years, look at his stats, he's tough, he'll be fine.

This could be a great year for the Chargers. I live on the east coast so I do not get to see many of their games.
One of the areas I am concerned with is the defensive backfield.
The current rules make it tough to defend and we have struggled
in that area before.
The rest of the defense is so good though we can pressure the QB to help out the DBs and Safety.
The offense is looking good...LT Gates wow!
I am really hoping to go all the way this year.
I am lifelong Charger fan! (born and raised in SD)

We really havn't seen enough passes to judge the DBs. Raiders primarily ran and Kerry Collins sucks so I wouldn't give all his incompletions to our DBs. From what I've seen they've improved though (first game atleast, Terrence Kiel was all OVER the place!!). Marlon McCree's been a good addition too.
Our pass-rush is still supreme (even though we put pressure on Collins that made him miss-throw, I would have really liked to see some more sacks). And yes, Rivers has great things ahead of him.
I think we need to use LT better though. Pass to him less for one, (we don't have an elite recieving core, but they're proven, USE 'EM!---McCardell has some of the best hands in the league-- -----Gates needs to stop dropping the ball though), and run better run-plays. He told the SD Union Tribune (paper FYI) that he wants to lead the league in rushing atleast once, to prove he's the best RUNNING back, not just "all-around back". And even when we give a crap load of carries, his average is usually below 4ypc (not good) and I believe that's the line (/just defenses scheming against him), not his fault. The line seems to have gotten better at pass-blocking, but not quite at run-blocking (which is supposedly easier that pass-blocking because you just run your body infront of someone, rather than dropping back and using your hands)
whew..that was long (what can I say, I'm bored..I've still got 3.5hrs till my next class)
*****to guy below me****
by working LT, I think he was referencing the oakland game. We were winning, Rivers should have had more chances.

Biggest strength....front 7 on D
Weaknesses....definitely Rivers (he's looked decent playing low risk against some bad teams so far, Oak and Tenn, he'll faulter big time against good Ds), no real threats at WR, and the way they are working LT I'll be surprised if he last the year off of IR
