S. - I noticed some other polling data that may also mean better news for Republicans in the fall. When Iowa voters are asked who they prefer in hypothetical 2008 presidential match-ups, they show a continued drift away from liberal Democrats and toward independent Republicans. For example, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani beats Sen. Hillary Clinton by 19 points - Sen. John McCain beats Clinton by 17 points. They both also beat Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry by double digits. This doesn't really sound like the stuff of an anti-Republican tide about to sweep the nation, now does it? THE ABOVE WAS FROM NEWT GINGRICH!

Probably. But it is without doubt they are losing all their marbles. They've embraced complete nuttiness. If it were not for their continued descent into lunacy and irrelevance, the Republicans would suffer for their abandonment of the conservative principles that got them elected.

I'm a conservative leaning independent. And if we're going to have a Republican as the next President I hope the Democrats take one of the Houses of Congress.

I don't like one party controlling Congress and the White House. I'm old enough to know some of this country's toughest times occured when this condition existed. i.e. LBJ and Carter.

Losing ground?

I guess you can cherry pick any polling data you want but the vast majority of polls show a democratic steamroller coming your way.
