well facetious means trying but failing to be amusing or using inappropriate humor.

while satirical means containting or usuing staire, being sarcastic, humorously critial...

I would say one is being funny the other is trying to be funny and failing...

facetious is someone that is trying to be witty and funny and knowing that they are wrong in what they are saying, while satirical is actually ridicule or can be an attack on vices or follies. A definite difference in the words.

If you are being facetious you are attempting humour on a "smart-****" level. Being Satirical is using ridicule or sarcasm to express something.
