You multiply the numbers above and below, and you multiply equal symbols by adding an exponent for every time you multiply one.

2x²y
---------
3xyz

multiplied by

4xyz
---------
2xy²z

equals

8x³y²z
---------
6x²y³z²

equals (simplified)

4x
-----
3yz

Treat above and below the fraction line as seperate multiplications, and in the end you simplify (i.e. x² below cancels 2 x's from above's x³, leaving x above).

Just remember that in multiplying symbols, you add exponents (don't multiply exponents). You know that x equals x¹. So x * x = x¹ * x¹ = x¹+¹ = x². Just the same, y² * y = y² * y¹ = y²+¹ = y³.

If you have multiple symbols, you only add up exponents for equal symbols. I.e. x²y * xy = x²+¹y¹+¹ = x³y².

The same principles apply for division, only then you rest exponents instead of adding them. I.e. x² / x = x²-¹ = x¹ = x. Also y / y = y¹-¹ = yº = 0.

Hope this is a bit clearer than my first try.

ITS LIKE THIS...FOR EXAMPLE,1/2 X 3/4=3/8

(1) MULTIPLY BOTH NUMERATORS so you are going to multiply 1 and 3 and you will get 3. that is now your numerator in the product.
(2)next step,multiply also the denominators(multiply 2 and 4 and you will get 8)
thats it! you already soved the equation.

FOR SYMBOLS OR VARIABLES:
A x B= AB
*just combine the letters man. thats it! if it has an exponent, just multiply the numerals(in case there is) and add the exponents of the similar variables, if the variables/letters are not similar, just put them together(like A x B=AB)

p.s.
goodluck tomorrow!
