When i turn left or right my car makes a whining noise. It does it even when i turn slightly or am not going perfectly straight. It seems to get louder the tighter the turn. Can anybody tell me what the problem could be?

The sound seems to be coming from under the car and not the engine. I forgot to mention i have a 93 toyota corolla. Someone mentioned topping off the fluid. By that do you mean filling it to the brim?

Power steering pump

The most likely cause of the noise is the power steering pump (assuming your car has power steering). Most power steering pumps make noise at the extremes of their movement, i.e. full lock left or right, maybe yours needs attention. Its also possible that the problem is the differential. During straight driving the internals of the differntial are 'locked' and only move relative to one another when cornering. If your car is rear-wheel drive then check the diff oil level. In front wheel drive cars the diff uses the engine oil and so rarely need checking.

If the sound comes from the engine it could be the power steering pump, if it comes from under the car where the suspension is at maybe you just need to grease up the tie rods and joints. If you have a rack n pinion it could be that too, try the grease first, its the cheapest thing to do before spending alot of $$$$ .

Sounds like your power steering box or rack and pinion is going bad. If not that it should be your power steering pump

She's right. Power steering unit. If it's a FORD, it may be natural. Fords have always had noisy power steering units.

once you've power guidance fluid everywhere in the engine i'd say the noise you're listening to is the belt slipping from each and each of the fluid everywhere in the belt. it would also clarify why you receive stuck in site visitors because the belt is slipping and coated in fluid. till it dries up the belt received't end slipping, its everywhere in the pulleys and everywhere. Take it again to the shop that put in the radiator, they messed something up.
