I was wondering if they had the same storyline, and if not, at what point do they split apart?

the storyline between the manga and the anime split at around epsiode 136 or 137 (fight between sasuke and naruto). the rest of the episodes are just fillers.

they have a pretty tight storyline until aound chapter 235 of the manga then thats when the anime started showing a long list of fillers which are still being continued, and the second part of naruto has resumed in the manga,including a short story on how kakashi got the sharingan

They were pretty much the same untill the Naruto, Sasuke fight. Now the anime is showing fillers.
