I would say that time without the kids when they can just be a "couple" would be considered quality time. And not just when the kids are off to college, but maybe when they have free time cuz kids are away with friends or relatives or in school, etc.

Spending time with her and my children. I take my wife on trips to different cities and countries. Some evenings i cook her a meal, we have a jacuzzi together with some wine. Also making love.

Eating the dinner she cooked. Watching tv while she washes dishes. Giving him "some" before he falls asleep.

I can only speak for my husband and he considers watching moveis QT and doing the do is QT time for him.
