Disgusting or not, if you gotta go, you gotta go. I generally keep my "dad" bag around, to carry items to clean things with, and I will clean the toilet seat prior to use (either me or the kids) and then put a butt gasket (you know those paper seat covers) or make one with TP. If that doen't work, then the hover method goes into play.

Not a phobia but I hate it with a passion... but sometimes I simply HAVE to go !! I layer the seat with toilet paper or just squat.... I find it amazing what I will do to my butt from touching that seat !!
Have you ever watched those after they come out of their stall ? at least 75% do not wash their hands....UUUUUUUG how disgusting. Why bother using the bathroom they could have just crapped in their pants and removed it with their hands..same darn thing!
An to think alot of women put their purses on the floor while they go.... BIG NO NO !!
I often thought of what some of these people's bathrooms look like in their home when they are such pigs out in public... I had the opportunity to view one... It fits them to a tee !!! It was as disgusting as they were ! And we wonder where all the illnesses come from !?! Soon I will be carrying a bottle of bleach spray and start disinfecting the bathrooms before I use them!

Public restrooms are gross. It doesn't matter if a person has good personal hygiene or not. Urine and feces contain bacteria and other crap(n.p.i). If it comes out of a clean body or a dirty body, makes no difference. It's up to whomever owns the restroom to keep it clean. That's the problem.

Anyone with a brain that works has a phobia about using Public Restrooms. I used them at times when the alternatives were the street and my pants.

I have a problem with using them, but somethings can't wait. I put lilke tons of tissue on the seat. I also, wash my hands and use that paper towel to open the door and catch the door with my foot and toss the paper towel into the trash. IT is good when they have the trash can at the door. Cause I don't like to litter either.

I HATE public washrooms. i changed into in no way truly someone who'd freak over germs or any project yet i in no way loved them.that is merely everyday i imagine. each and every human dislikes them. per chance its merely because as people we opt to do our umm... *duties* in a better privatley positioned area like a washroom at abode or perchance even a public bathing room for one man or woman out of time without like a gazillion stalls.

I go with the hover method. And as someone else mentioned, the doorknobs are the real issue, so I use a paper towel or toilet paper as a buffer to touching them.

Yes, American public bathrooms are usually very disgusting! They are much cleaner in other countries I have travelled in, like Spain or Japan.

Actually, the number of germs on a toilet seat are negligable. They are cleaned several times a day. What you really have to watch out for is touching doorknobs. eeww
