Seems like you've already decided... you don't like Michaela, since you don't want to name her after Michael, and you listed Mikalah last...
It's your darling little girl, so name her what YOU would like.... (and it looks like Michala is the winner! Just look at your very first sentence. It's decided!)

I think you should go with your instinct and use Michala. I have also seen (and I am sure in the answers you have gotten it has been mentioned but I try not to read others answers before i do mine so I am not influenced by them) Mikayla. I like your spelling the best. Very pretty. wish you had mentioned what you are using for a first name, too!
PS Was Mikalah Gordon that quirky girl that looked like the Nanny? If so, she was a hoot!

I think the first priority would be to your liking, and since you cannot make up your mind just yet, why dont you try and see things from your future daughter's point of view? Give her a name that she'd be proud of!
I like the spelling Michala, Mykaela & Mikayla. To me, both sounds feminine and so will definitely not be mistaken as a boy's name despite the pronouciation, which comes close to michael.
Good luck with deciding on a perfect name and may your daughter be blessed!

I think Mikalah is pretty. I like the way it's spelled. I had trouble naming my daughter. Her father wanted a "J" name (cuz her brothers and the both of us all our names start with J) I ended up going to the hospital with the name Kaitlin, she came out of the hosptial Jenna Rose! LOL Best of luck hun!

I think that if you want to name her Michala, that is lovely. If that is where you got the spelling then go for it. Sounds like that is the one you want so why let anyone change your mind? This is your baby, name her what you want or you will regret it for the rest of your life. Besides, if it is biblical, then the spelling has to be biblical or it is not the same name. Great name, by the way!

All of those spellings are nice. I have a niece names Michaela, but that's because her daddy's name is Michael. Why not try...since you like the name Michal, why not try Michalah?

When I first looked at the spelling that you have picked out I pronounced it Mi-Call-a. From the other spellings that you have put I am going to assume that the name you want is pronounced like Mi-Kay-la. Here are a few spellings suggestions....
Makayla
Mikayla
Machayla
Michayla
Makaela
Mikaela
Mykaela
Hope this helps!

I think the first way is less popular and more unique. But if you like the name and find it special somehow then look for the spelling that gives you the same feeling you have when you hear the name.

michaela is correct. if you wanted to copy davids wifes name exactly, you would leave it a michal but you are in fact changing the name a bit & the sound is changing with it. that sound requires you to change the spelling of the word.

My opinion is:
1. No offense, but there are wayyyy too many michaelas on the planet already. It seems like everyone has to name their child Kayley, Haley, Kayla, Michaela, Zoey, Hannah...etc...etc...UGH!
2. If you absolutely have to have a trendy name, spell it the way it is pronounced. Michaela. Your daughter will resent her name if nobody knows how to spell it or pronounce it.
