i want to say "forward thinking" as in thinking ahed and planning for the future...

What is wrong with "planning for the future" or "forward-thinking"?
Do you really need a more sophisticated (fancier) word for planning ahead?
I would suggest "foresighted" or "gifted with foresight".
Farsighted means something quite different.
