my boyfriend's mom, in one of the few nice things she's ever done, got us a female Jack Russell pup. I took her to the vet the first day, and they asked, "What's her name?" well, he hadn't come with me, so I made a name up on the spot. Taken from a bud's tradition of using musician influences, and big on puns, I said, "Grrrl"
Talking it over with my b/f, he hated the name. He has a tradition of naming critters from cartoons. He took his choice for her from Betty Boop, and from the little girl in Kill Bill 2, so to him she's Bibi, or Bebe, or B.B.
His co-workers say Bibi is cute, while Grrrl is stupid. my friends say, while not brilliant, Grrrl is better than Bibi.
The third option is to combine the names into Bibi Grrrl. I can accept this, since the most common reaction to her sweet face from the ladies (she's a chick magnet, which does me no good, but I got me a beau) is calling her Baby Girl, so it's sort of close.
Your opinion?

Bibi Grrrl sounds perfect!

My wife and I had a similar problem. She names by appearance (her black and white cat is "Domino"), I name after cartoon characters (Bubbles, Lisa, etc.)

The last time we adopted a cat, both approaches worked, because she looked as much like Hello Kitty as a real live cat can. So her name's Hello Kitty. :-)

Bibi is just about the stupidest name for a anything I have ever heard. Betty Boop is also dumb. In fact, naming pets after cartoons is like advertising "I have no creativity whatsoever". Of all the options, I much rather prefer Grrrl.

And Bibi Grrrl or Baby Girl is just kinda weird. People probably pronounce it Baby Girl because they have no idea what you're saying.

I vote for either keeping Grrrl because it is awesome, or coming up with someone entirely new. And no cartoon names!

I think I like Bibi. It's cute. You can name her Bibi Grrrl. But call her Bibi for short.

I like Bebe, but Baby Girl is a compromise, so I would suggest either or. Sorry, but I don't care much for Grrrl either. Good luck!

Actually, Bibi Grrl is cute. You will end up calling her Bibi or Bea most of the time, but the name works.

My partner and I generally name our dogs after designers. We have Armani and Versace at the moment. Out German Shepard was the exception because he came with a name, but that is just one optoin. You can always toss anmes in a hat and pull 2 and thatis the dog's name.

I like the combination, although everyone will probably just call her Bibi for short.... If you can't agree, find a different name that you can both agree on (I personally think "butch" would be a cute name for a tiny little dog) :-)

Obviously neither of you are familiar with the Cartoon "Invader Zim"

The sidekick/robot helper's (which is actually a DOG!) name is "Grr!"
Actually all characters only have three letter names.

If you check it out, I think you'll see that with "Grr!" you both win!

Plus if you catch an episode or two of "Invader ZIM" you might find that "Grr" totally ROCKS!
