Pink Floyd is certainly an amazing band, but I think there are certainly many bands that each climb to the top of their respective areas.
Other bands I'd consider amazing would be Rush.
And even though I'm not a huge fan, Aerosmith and the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, and a few other have all had longevity and influenced many other bands.
So I guess there are several factors for "amazing".
How does the music make you feel?
How talented are the musicians?
How many other bands have been influenced by their music?
And I happen to believe that the longer a band is in existence, the more likely the music will mature and become better.

pink Floyd hasn't somewhat done something for song. they only were given right here and left. that they had some sturdy songs, yet are so overplayed. And The Beatles have a fashion extra efficient line up of songs.
