probably as far away as possible from a person that you don't like or despise immensely . on the other hand if we are talking day to day personal space. then probably at an arms length is comfortable

Depends on the person who's invading it -some people I can't stand to be in the same room with! On the tube, however, there is no such thing (especially on the Victoria line in rush hour). As a general rule, though, I'd say 3/4 metre to a metre is a good distance to keep between myself and other people, unless I like them, then it's half a metre (unless I REALLY like them!)

I think personal space is more 2 do with privacy, if your on your own weather it is a mile or a metre time 2 think on your own is your personal space.

"Personal space" can mean a part of a home that a person can have as his own, such as a bedroom or office or corner of a family room.

It can also mean the amount of space a person wants to keep around himself without having other people infringe on it. It is sometimes called an "imaginary space bubble". Depending on cultures and individuals, a space bubble can be anything from a couple of feet to a few feet. Its the space people expect to be left between them and others when having conversations. A person's space bubble can also change depending on whether the person is in a crowded situation (where a smaller space bubble is more acceptable) or a non-crowded situation (when people tend to expand the size of their imaginary space bubbles).

For me, personally, my idea of personal space invasion is when someone is standing less than an arms length from me so (looks at arm!) about 50cm. However, if its a stinky person Id say more space needed and a good friend, hell lets get up and personal! Its just that point at which you feel uncomfortable with the closeness of the other person standing near you. I know I explained that REALLY badly but I know what I mean!!!

Personal space, would depend on circumstances, but I would normally want an imaginary circle around me with a radius of one metre.

Depends who the person is and why they are invading my space. If they have god awful breath like a septic tank then i'd say a good metre or two! If they are just down right humpable then they can invade me and my space any time!

15-16 inches. It is the space where if people get inside of it causes an uncomfortable feeling.
Example: Did you ever have someone talking to you that likes to get right in your face but doesn't realise he's doing it? That is a violation of personal space.

Depends on the person and situation. My kids can sit in my lap (so can the Mrs.). Close friends can be touching me. A stranger in a crowded elevator might bump up against me and that is ok. If that same stranger is walking down the street by me they had best be a bit over arms length away.
