if you look like your avatar, then there should be no problem LOL, maybe it has to do with men wanting a younger wife, for easy child birth or they want someone who will take care of them.

I dont think its as difficult as u think it is.. with the rate of divorce and it seeming to be most divorces happening between late 20's thru early 40's.. there should be plenty of single men out there.. more so then say 30 years ago at the age of 40.. i think u need to just stop "LOOKING" for love as love always seems to only find u when ur not looking.. and put urself out in the world to where u can meet people.. do hobbies.. outside the home.. but get out in the world..

Well, contrary to what shughes might think, women in this age bracket outnumber men, and that inequity continues to grow until death. Throw into that the statistic that more men self-identify as homosexual, and the odds look pretty grim.
The way to find one is to decide you can live without one. When you have really accepted that as a possibility, you radiate competence and self-sufficiency, something very attractive to like-minded men.
I went through the same thing, and met my (now) husband at a party when I was 42. Had my first and only child at age 45. He is a keeper, but was kind of a nerd (exceptionally handsome one, in my opinion), but was/is "into" computers and all the rest. He is not very social, and I still don't understand why he even went solo to that party. Kismet, I suppose.

most single 40 something women have children - most men in that age category do not want to deal with someone else's kids - they would rather date a 30 something or 20 something girl who has never been married & has no other responsibliity but to keep their man happy - these 40 something men are usually all divorced and probably saw their wives get fat and devote all their time to the kids, so that is a bad memory in their heads - men like to feel like they're #1.

You are statisticaly more likly to be targeted by a terrorist than to find a mate in you forty's that being said I am not sure how many decent men exist in any age group I am not a man hater I have a man but whether he is decent or not is sometimes questionable buy a small female dog I know that sounds rediculouse but I assume you want companionship and in my expierience men are not the answer to that as far as sex is concerned they don't have to be decent for that just cute..

ooo good one.
It is difficult for "us" single 40 somethings (women) to find a decent man because.....
A lot of us (okay not me) took our loving husbands to the cleaners and now every friggen guy out there is RUNNING SCARED.
You figure a lot of guy's our age got married in their 20's and now in their 40's when they expected to be helping get the kids to off to college so they could be alone with "wifey" - "wifey" has been off to the lawyers in the past 20 years and have taken guy's for EVERYTHING and then some.
Put it this way - if I was a guy - there is NO FRIGGEN WAY I WOULD GET HOOKED UP WITH SOME MONEY GRUBBING WOMEN....
My best advice..... get yourself a bob.....

~Its a proven fact that Women out number Men..2 women to every man..sooooo my guess would be all the good men are taken by this age and if they are not most likely there is something wrong with them...this is not allways true but since the good men are hard to find in the first place then its even harder to find them at our age..~~~> ;o}

You say single, so that changes the picture a little, problem is at that age your into married men or divorced men with families or career guys who WANT TO BE WITH THE BOYS, yes your right right, not easy! Need to look at a little older guy in great shape, who has his values in the right place, good luck!

Wow that is a easy one! The good ones are either already married / commited, the single one are either damaged goods( treated very poorly by a woman and have some resentment / trust issues) or creeps.

Because men are not decent at that age, they're all used up. And because they are mostly looking for younger women or are taken.
