I like very much the central idea of the system, but I see some problems. It is hard to say something WORST.
There are two problematic points to me. First is that the teaching on human sciences like History is too tendentious and partial. I like most of the method proposals, but the programs and the contents should be better orientated towards a wider conscience about the differences on behavior and cultures that exist in the world. If they had this, the system would be perfect (if you allow me this idealism).
Everyone above mentioned the matter of discipline and the need of punishment. I think this matter is not only an american problem, not even a problem that belongs exclusively to the School. This is a world wide problem, and the entire society (school but also family, parents, friends, institutions, politicians, the media and so on) is responsible for that, one it supports this culture of valuing only the immediate and giving no emphasis on the development of an ethics towards the other, and towards the global society.

No immediate reward or punishment. This is unnatural and the reason why our education doesn't work.
Also, preparing for college, which is just a way of buying a job. All it proves is that someone worked without pay and lived like a 12-year-old until he was 22 because he was afraid to grow up. High school students sense that this is the insulting, self-destructive "opportunity" open to them if they study in high school, so they can't get motivated and instead indulge in escapism with such a future hanging over them: If they go to college, they will never grow up; if they don't, they will be doing low-paid work the rest of their lives.

The worst thing about the American are those who attack it from the outside.
A student can get a great education if they are motivated to get it. The motivation needs to come from the inside of the child.

Students don't realize that their greatest free asset is their education. Too many of them are either spoiled, undisciplined, lazy or on drugs. None of them seem to think that education will be of any importance later in life. They must think that they're going to be famous musicians, models, or drug dealers and won't need education.

The system has deteriorated and intelligence levels have dropped drastically. It's been reduced to turnstile education. Pushem through!
